A small country stitched from cliffs and vineyards
Luxembourg Hotels is a curated guide to the whole Grand Duchy, not just the capital. We cover Luxembourg City across Ville Haute, Grund, Clausen and the Gare district, plus Vianden under its clifftop castle, Echternach at the mouth of the Mullerthal Trail, and the Moselle wine villages from Remich to Wasserbillig. The angle is castles, gorges and cross-border trails, because that is what actually pulls people to this country over neighbouring Belgium or the Saarland.
We are not the booking engine. Tapping See price on any hotel hands you to app.impt.io, which aggregates over 8 million hotels at the same price or better than the big names. Every booking made through that link funds one verified tonne of carbon removal at no extra cost to you. Same room, same price, one tonne of CO2 gone. That is the entire model.
In the capital, Ville Haute puts you on Rue du Fosse and a two-minute walk from the Bock Casemates, but expect $140 to $200 for a decent double. Drop down to Grund along the Alzette and prices barely move, though the setting is quieter. The Gare district south of Avenue de la Liberte is the honest budget option at $75 to $110, and every train and tram passes through. Kirchberg suits business trips near the EU institutions but empties on weekends.

Before you book
The questions we get most, answered with this month’s numbers.
Off-peak (November to March, excluding Christmas markets), you can find double rooms from $70 to $95 a night in the Gare district around Rue de Strasbourg, and slightly cheaper in Bonnevoie just east of the station. Central Ville Haute stays pricier, rarely under $130. Sunday nights are consistently the cheapest slot of the week.
January to early March is cheapest, with rooms around $75 to $100 and quiet streets. May, June and September are the sweet spot for hiking the Mullerthal Trail. Peak pricing hits during the Schueberfouer funfair (late August to early September) and the Christmas markets in December, when Old Town rates jump 40 to 60 percent.
Ville Haute suits first-timers who want to walk to the Bock Casemates and Place d Armes, from $140. The Gare district is the budget choice at $75 to $110, with fast trains everywhere. For castles and gorges, base in Vianden or Echternach directly, where guesthouses run $85 to $120 and you wake up on the trail.
All public transport nationwide is free since 2020, including trains, trams and buses. Line 100 runs Luxembourg City to Echternach in about 50 minutes; the CFL train to Wasserbillig via Line 30 hits the Moselle in 40. Vianden needs a bus change at Ettelbruck. A car helps for the Mullerthal but is not essential.
They underestimate the Schueberfouer effect. This 600-year-old funfair on the Glacis runs late August to early September and fills every hotel within 15 km, pushing central rates above $220. Book two months ahead or shift dates by a week. Also: many restaurants in Vianden and Echternach close entirely from mid-November to mid-March.
When you tap See price and complete a booking through app.impt.io, IMPT funds one verified tonne of carbon removal at no cost to you. Same room, same price as booking anywhere else, with the same 8M+ hotel inventory. The carbon removal is paid from the standard commission the hotel already pays, not added to your bill.
