The Palais Grand-Ducal is the official town residence of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg and one of the finest Flemish Renaissance buildings north of the Alps. Its 1573 facade, with turrets, gables and scallop-shell niches, faces Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes in the heart of the Ville Haute. For 47 weeks of the year it operates as head-of-state offices, but every summer while the family is at Château de Berg it opens for guided visits.
