A village folded into the city
Weimerskirch is the smallest historic quarter of Luxembourg City, tucked in the Alzette valley between Eich and Neudorf, north of Kirchberg. It has an old parish church, a couple of streets of village houses, and essentially no commerce. Lodging is thin: one or two guesthouses on Rue de Beggen and a handful of short-term rentals, typically $85-120 a night.
Bus 21 connects Weimerskirch to the city centre in about 15 minutes; Kirchberg is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride up the hill.
Who ends up here
Weimerskirch suits travellers who found a specific rental deal and don’t need much within walking distance, plus people visiting friends or family in the northern city. Cyclists using the Alzette valley path also like the position; the path runs from the Luxembourg-Ville commune all the way to Mersch and beyond.
It does not suit tourists on a short trip. There is nothing to see, no restaurants worth crossing town for, and you will bus or walk out for everything. Choose Neudorf or Kirchberg instead unless the rental price is genuinely exceptional.
