Hotels with pools in Luxembourg City, ranked

Only about 9 hotels in the capital have a real swimmable pool — here they are, ordered by which actually deliver.

The ones with proper pools

Sofitel Le Grand Ducal in Gare has the best pool view in the country — top-floor lap pool looking straight at the Pétrusse valley. It is compact (about 12 metres) but heated and rarely busy after 9pm. Melia Luxembourg on Kirchberg has a longer indoor pool with big windows onto the Philharmonie, plus a sauna and steam room included. Novotel Kirchberg has a decent 15-metre pool that families monopolise on weekends; go early. Parc Belair has a small heated indoor pool that skews adult and quiet.

Skip the Doubletree by Hilton if a pool is your main reason — the fitness area is fine but the pool is small and often closed for events. Mondorf Parc Hôtel is technically not in the city but if you want a serious pool, the thermal complex it connects to is 25 minutes south by car and is the real deal — outdoor and indoor thermal basins, 36°C.

Honest trade-offs

None of these pools are destination pools in a resort sense. Luxembourg is a landlocked business capital and hotel pools exist mainly to give EU officials somewhere to swim laps before breakfast. Expect 12-20 metres, chlorinated, indoor, and shared with a fitness room. If you want to actually swim rather than dip, book Melia or Novotel Kirchberg. If you want the atmosphere and view, book Sofitel Le Grand Ducal — but know that the pool closes at 22:00 sharp.

Prices in 2026 sit around €220-€380 for a standard double in the pool hotels. Kids under 12 usually swim free with a paying adult. Check opening hours before booking: several hotels close their pools on Sunday afternoons for maintenance, which catches out weekend guests every single week.

The questions people ask about Kirchberg, answered with this month’s numbers.

Are any hotel pools outdoor?

Not in Luxembourg City itself — the climate does not justify it. For an outdoor pool you need to go to Mondorf-les-Bains and its thermal park, or to a few countryside hotels in the Moselle.

Which pool is best for kids?

Novotel Kirchberg. It has the widest shallow end and the least uptight staff about splashing. Melia is nicer but pool rules are stricter.
