1. Taste Crémant de Luxembourg at a producer. Domaine Bernard-Massard in Grevenmacher does the polished tour; smaller domaines like Alice Hartmann in Wormeldange or Krier-Welbes are more personal. Crémant here is genuinely excellent and cheaper than equivalent-quality Champagne. 2. Have lunch on a terrace in Ehnen or Wormeldange — small villages, quiet, direct river views, half the price of the capital. 3. Take the summer river boat from Remich to Wasserbillig or the reverse; two hours, sedate pace, an easy way to see the valley without driving.
The Moselle is Luxembourg's wine region and the country's most relaxed day out. Crémant tastings usually cost $10-15 and include a proper tour of the cellars. Ehnen is the prettiest village on the Luxembourg side; Wormeldange is the wine centre. The boat only runs May through September and is more useful if you’re not planning to drive — combine it with a train to Remich (bus from Luxembourg Gare) for a car-free day.

4. Visit Mondorf-les-Bains thermal spa — not on the river itself but 15 minutes away, and a genuine full day of thermal pools, saunas, and treatments. 5. Cycle the Moselle bike path — flat, well-signposted, runs the full length of the Luxembourg river bank; rent bikes in Remich or Grevenmacher. 6. Cross to Nittel or Wincheringen on the German side for a different set of restaurants and vineyards; the border is a bridge and no one checks it.
Mondorf is what to do on a rainy day when a vineyard visit doesn’t appeal — it's a serious spa, not a swimming pool, and worth the entry fee. The bike path is what to do on a sunny weekend if you want exercise; 20 km round-trip is easily manageable. Crossing to Germany is a curiosity as much as a plan — the wines are similar, the food is heartier, and the exchange rate no longer exists. Skip the Moselle-side casinos unless that's specifically your thing.

Do I need a car for the Moselle?+
You can reach Remich, Grevenmacher and Wasserbillig by public bus and train, but hopping between smaller villages like Ehnen and Wormeldange is much easier by car or bike.
